Food poisoning

** WARNING - MAY INVOLVE A LITTLE TOO MUCH INFO SORRY **

Last Friday was my youngest sister's birthday (yup, she's a leap year baby!) To celebrate her birthday, we decided to go out for lunch. We had originally decided to go to our favourite restaurant, but the plans got changed as my Nana & other family members were going as well.

My Mum and her husband have been living interstate for the past 5 or so years, and had been down for a couple of weeks visiting. They were leaving on Saturday, so the birthday lunch was kinda of a get-together/say goodbye lunch also.

Because of this fact, I let my kidlets stay home from school so they could see Mum & say goodbye to her too. My other sis and her boys also showed up, as did my Aunt & Uncle. So it was a nice family gathering.

All was going well, until my daughter, A, started complaining of a belly ache. She's a tiny thing, so it doesn't take much for her to get full. I was scolding her for eating too much, and twice took her to the toilets to see if she needed to be sick.

It was a long lunch, so by the time we were set to leave, it had already been 2 hours. Just as we were getting ready to leave, A started moaning and groaning, holding her belly. So I raced her off to the toilet where she proceeded to throw up, and throw up, and throw up. Again, I just put it down to her eating too much. She only ate fried rice and some prawn crackers, but I think she had about 3 small plates of it, plus a mouthful of choc pudding.

She said she felt fine, so we all went off to a shopping centre so Mum could spoil 6 of her 9 grandkids (it was a rarity to have us all together - my bro, his wife & 3 girls still live interstate so that's why they weren't there). We were there for about an hour, and again, just as we were leaving Miss A complained of a sore belly. She subsequently threw up in the carpark near my car ewwww

But then, I started getting belly cramps. Thus began a night full of "fun" for me. I put A to bed when we got home. I set up a bucket and towel on her bed for her. Then told hubby I was going to lie down. My son was fine, so he ate dinner with hubby and step-son, who'd come to stay for the night.

For the next 12 hours (til 4am) I went through gastro HELL!!! I might as well have set up a bed in the bathroom, as I spent most of my night in there lol The worst was because I'd thrown up so much, I had nothing left to bring up. Try telling my stomach that! It kept convulsing, but nothing was in there aaah! I've never had food poisoning before, and I hope I NEVER have it again!!!

Saturday, although the vomitting and diarrohea ended, both A and I still suffered from extreme stomach pains and fatigue. We spent the entire day in bed. Today (Sunday) we were able to finally eat something (toast for brekkie) but still have pains, which I think it more to do with all the strain from vomitting, but at least we are on the mend.

Geez, I wish we had gone to Cafe Primo lol But hey, at least I lost weight this week haha You watch, I'll put it all back on aaaah!!!

stomach bugs are the WORST. My mom always said, "You know why 24 hour bugs only last about 24 hours ... b/c you'd probably die if you had to suffer through it any longer" I agree, nothing worse than the throw up bug.

Sorry you went through all that.

Never know, you might keep they weight off.

Hoping you are 100% soon.

Thanks Angela! Your Mum is so right. I don't think I could have handled anymore. I'm so thankful that Abby didn't get the full brunt like I did. The belly pains were the worse!!!

We are on the mend now :)

I hate that feeling! Glad you all are well now. I lost my links when I re-did my blog. I remembered TS had your link so I am glad to be back here and catching up. Your new blog sidebar pic is adorable! Your hair looks great!
