Very Belated Birthday Wishes

I have been so preoccupied with a number of things that I totally forgot to post about my babygirl's 9th birthday, which was on the 10th of March. She had a wonderful day and got spoilt rotten. We took her for a surprise birthday dinner with my Mum & Step-Dad, and my sister & her kidlets.

Miss A had been wanting a Barbie Van for over a year now, but at the time I thought it was too expensive and I had already gotten her a "big" present for Christmas (2 Christmas's ago now). Both kids have been saving up their money to buy something "big". Miss A's big thing was the Barbie Van. Just before her birthday, I saw the van on special, so bought it in advance with the help of my Mum who has been down visiting & helping my sister for her upcoming birth.

I have never seen a kid so excited about a present before lol She played with it for 4 days straight. Because she had put a certain amount of money towards it, we let her have it earlier than her birthday. Here is a pic of her with her beloved Barbie Party Bus, which after seeing it all opened up, was well worth the money.

FOR THOSE WWE FANS, YES, THAT IS "JOHN CENA" DRIVING THE PARTY BUS LOL

Work has started .. FINALLY!

After what has seemed like an extremely long wait, we have finally got the foundation laid! We have had some hold-ups due to council approval for the soakage pit, so it took twice as long as expected. As you can imagine, hubby and I have never been so excited to see a slab of concrete in our lives lol It was great to see it. It gave us a chance to visualise what the house will look like, where to put the driveway, carport, verandah, gardens etc. From the picture, it does look like a tight squeeze to fit a car down the side, but the measurements are the same as a single carport.

Anyhoo, fingers crossed it's completed within the 6 months timeframe we've been given.

* An update - we received a letter today with a completion date 21st September woohoo *

VIEW FROM THE BACK OF THE HOUSE. THE LEFT SIDE (INDENTED) WILL BE OUR SON'S BEDROOM. TO THE RIGHT IS THE FAMILY ROOM, WHICH WILL HAVE A SLIDING DOOR OPENING UP TO THE BACKYARD. THE SMALL POLE STICKING UP ON IT'S OWN IS FOR THE KITCHEN SINK (IT WILL HAVE AN ISLAND BENCH), THEN ABOVE THAT WILL BE THE DINING ROOM. BEHIND THAT (STILL ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THIS PICTURE) IS THE KID'S LOUNGE ROOM.

VIEW FROM THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE. THE BIG SECTION ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE WILL BE THE KID'S LOUNGE ROOM. TO THE RIGHT IS OUR BEDROOM. ALL THE RIGHT HAND SIDE ARE THE BEDROOMS, BATHROOMS & LAUNDRY. VISUALISE PEOPLE LOL

OCD

I was talking about my "slight" OCD problem in my WW forum, and thought maybe it was a good idea for a blog post. So here we go ...

I quite often joke about my OCD, but I seriously do think I have some form of it. I have had some "quirks" for a number of years, but I seem to have gotten worse as I have gotten older. I don't know why I do these things, or why I am a stickler for some of the things. I guess it's just ME!

Here are just some of the many examples of what I do:

*** My closets are sorted into groups and colours. Not just mine & hubby's, but the kidlets as well. Hubby's work-shirts are together, in order of shirts & teeshirts. It would drive me nuts if a tee was in the middle of 2 shirts. I am sure you get the hint - school tees, school jumpers, school dresses as well can't be mixed together. Then on top of that - all are put into colour groups as well. And for the kids, their clothes are also put in order of what size they are, so I can get a quick glimpse of clothes that need to be bagged up for GoodWill.

*** As well as the closets, all clothing in drawers are put into groups and colours as well, including underwear & socks.

*** I brush my teeth in a certain order. If I get sidetracked or off in la la land and forget where I have brushed, I will start again lol

*** I shower myself in a certain order. Again, if I get sidetracked, I start again, otherwise I will feel out of whack!

*** The way I do my dishes is also done in a certain order. Drives me crazy when hubby washes cos he just puts whatever into the sink. I can't look when he washes them. I just grin & bare it, and dry them.

*** Now to laundry - the clothes have to be hung in groups on the line - always with underwear and socks last. I think I have mentioned that I also colour co-ordinate the pegs with the clothes. ie all light coloured or white clothes get hung up with white pegs lol God, I really am weird!!!

*** I collect cow items, including numerous figurines. When displayed in the cabinet, it takes me a long time to organise how they are displayed. When I need to dust the shelves, the figurines MUST go back the way they were.

*** I can't walk past a picture frame if it's crooked. I HAVE to straighten it up!

*** I like my beds made "wrinkle free". If someone has sat on the bed, I can't walk past the bed or room without straightening the beds up. My hubby and kids have great fun driving me crazy by messing the beds up on purpose because they know I will ALWAYS "de-wrinkle" them lol

*** Everything in my pantry and kitchen cupboards have a place. I also like all the labels pointing a certain way. My hubby also takes great pleasure it making sure he just puts the groceries away anywhere he wants, knowing I will go in there after he's finished and rearrange them all. He'll make comments like "what took you so long?" "what have you been doing?" followed by giggles and snickers hmmmmm!!!

Yeah, come to think of it, I am weird! lol

My newest nephew!

My newest nephew finally arrived safe and well on Saturday 28th February, 2009 at 2.19pm weighing 8lb 10oz. It also happened to be his Mummy's birthday, well kinda birthday. She's really a leap year baby lol And get this, my sister & her bubs went home .. yep HOME .. 5 hours after giving birth haha She didn't want to stay in hospital. There were no complications with them both so Dr's agreed that after 4 hours they could go home. WOW!!!

Here's some snaps of him when he was 3 hours old ...

My kidlets with their newest cousin. I think they cooed over him more than me lol

Proud Auntie & nephew #4 !!!
